【時見草】Japanese Bonsai Art – Supreme×Nike Air Force1（白）

「時見草」とは松の木を指すです。また「時を見る」という言葉に由来し、その永続性を表現した「長寿」と「不死」を象徴しています。

鉢に利用されている「エアフォース1」のデザイナーはブルース・キルゴア。
モデル名は米国大統領専用機「エアフォースワン」に由来します。ナイキのエアクッションをバスケットボールシューズに初めて採用したモデルでもあります。
「エアフォース1」マンハッタンで人気を博すにつれ、ニューヨークで「アップタウンズ」の愛称で知られるようになりました。
また、その白さを担保するように「履き潰して買い替える」という文化と共に、東海岸ヒップホップの定番スニーカーとなりました。
私たちはこの「履き潰して買い替える」という儚い消費の背景に着目しました。松の木が象徴する「永遠」と、エアフォース1が持つ「儚さ」という矛盾を組み合わせ、盆栽アートを通じて人間が直面する矛盾を表現しています。
それは、人生に永遠を求めながらも、儚い美しさと過ぎ去る感情を同時に慈しむ人間の姿を映し出しています。

“Tokimigusa” is a Japanese word for pine trees. It also represents longevity and immortality, born from the phrase “to see time,” expressing its enduring nature.

The designer of this “Air Force 1” model is Bruce Kilgore. The model name originates from the U.S. presidential aircraft, “Air Force One.”It was the first model to incorporate Nike's “Air” cushioning into basketball shoes.
As time passed and it gained popularity, particularly in Manhattan, the AF1 became known by the nickname ‘Uptowns’ in New York. Alongside the culture of “wearing them out and buying new ones,” it became a staple uniform of East Coast hip-hop.
We focused on the background of this ephemeral consumption—wearing them out and buying new ones. Combining the pine tree's symbolism of longevity with the Air Force 1's cultural backdrop of “fleetingness,” this work expresses the contradictions humans face through bonsai art.
It reflects how we yearn for eternity in life while simultaneously cherishing ephemeral beauty and fleeting emotions.
